Essay on The Misconceptions of the American Agriculture...

Have you ever thought about what the world would be without Agriculture? Have you thought about going to the meat department of your local grocery store and there is no meat, but vegetable substitutes? The same people that are telling you that soy is an appropriate alternative to meat, have never been on a farm, and wouldn’t know the first thing about it. There are many organizations that lie to the American public each day to fulfill their self centered agendas. The organic sub-culture is gaining more popularity than ever, with their lies and false propaganda on topics as, herbicides, pesticides, land erosion, hazardous waste, steroids and medicines. Another youth organization is the 4-H organization. The 4-H is a community of young people across America learning skills such as, citizenship, leadership, and lifelong skills. 4-H pro grams have three main goals: Science; Citizenship; and Healthy Living. The 4-H organization mission is to educate youth in arts, and sciences and also to encourage fellowship with service opportunities. With the continued urban expansion, 4-H continues to plan new projects for its members to study beyond agriculture and animal science, including, photography, conservation, cooking, public speaking, shooting sports and other skills. The 4-H is often associated with its summer camps, county fairs and large state fairs. 4-H has spread its philosophy to an international youth audience, and regularly awards and sponsors the 4-H trips and cultural events. The 4-H club currently has about 6.5 million members across America. Even though we’ve been educating our youth for many years, there is a small group of people that make their living attacking the United States Department of Agriculture. Misconceptions are often created by groups with an anti-agriculture or anti-animal agriculture agenda.
